I’m finally getting around to posting all this info on one page since I haven’t really found a place or resource to share with other parents in the area.
Huge collections of kids books and everything is geared towards children.
Free, fun for a few hours or so. The mini-zoo in the back is fun. There’s also a playground outside.
Nice children’s section, we love Pam the storytime librarian. They have lots of kids programs, activities and performances.
This library is small, quaint with a neighborhood-y feel. We also love the storytime librarian. And they have kids movie night on the last Friday of the month with popcorn!
My kids love Teacher Cara, the weekend ballet teacher. Classes are afforable and schedule convenient for working parents.
Laurel Street Arts-San Carlos
Not so expensive ceramics painting for kids. They always have pieces on clearance and offer discount days.
The Reading Bug-San Carlos
Super cute bookstore in downtown.
My kids can’t iceskate yet but they love to watch the skaters.
Kids make your own pizza on Tuesdays.
Awesome events program in Spring/ Summer (dancing, concerts, music, art)
Target & Jo-Anns
Cute little kids craft items / sets can be found in the $1 section.
Hillsdale Mall Lego Store-San Mateo
Not a big fan of this mall, but the lego store is good for playing.
Rengstorff Park-Mountain View
This park is huge, has a pool, water play areas, several playgrounds, walking path, exercise equipment, outdoor musical instruments, sandbox.
Happy Hollow Park & Zoo-San Jose
This place has enough stuff that you can do something different in every visit. Petting zoo, rides, regular zoo, obstacle course, playgrounds, puppet theater. You can bring in your own food and they also have different programs.
Discovery Museum-San Jose
We like the arts and crafts on the second floor and the changing exhibits. You can bring your own food!
CuriOdyssey-San Mateo
We like the zoo outside and there is a nice walking area with a beautiful zoo.
Talbot’s Toyland-San Mateo
Tons of toys and they carry the classics as well.
Large children’s area and a playground outside.
